Housing Authority of the Town of Morristown
The Housing Authority of the Town of Morristown (“Authority”) announces the opening of its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program waiting list. A lottery preference will be conducted for 500* applications. Any individuals or families may apply for a Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher; and, in compliance with the Authority’s Administrative Plan, local preferences are given to people who live or work in Morristown, New Jersey, to select families from the waiting list.
Applications must be completed and submitted at www.morristownha.org. The application will only be available on the website from Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. (E.S.T.) to Monday, April 6, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. (E.S.T.) or until at least 500 applications are received, whichever comes first. Applications will not be accepted by mail or in person at any Authority offices. Any mobile device (cell phone, tablet) with access to the internet can be used to access and complete the application.
All individuals and families who receive a Housing Choice Voucher must use the voucher in Morristown for the first year of participation.
The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program is a rental assistance program in which participants pay no more than 40% of their adjusted monthly income towards their rent at initial participation.
